The Chicago Blackhawks were in high spirits after securing three wins during their five-game road trip. Despite a loss to the struggling San Jose Sharks, the team was able to rally and defeat both the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks. However, they are far from satisfied as they prepare to face the Detroit Red Wings at home on Wednesday night.
According to Chicago coach Luke Richardson, the team's lack of contentment is a positive sign for a professional sports team. He stated, "We're not satisfied...you go right after the next one." The Blackhawks will bring home four big points and two crucial wins from their trip to California.
Chicago has not played a home game since their 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on October 25th. The team struggled during their four-game homestand, only managing to secure one win. However, with the help of Ryan Donato, who scored five goals and two assists during the road trip, the Blackhawks have started to find their offensive rhythm.

Connor Bedard, who had been on a three-game pointless streak, broke out with three assists during the team's 4-2 victory over Anaheim on Sunday. Richardson praised his improved performance, stating, "He was moving his feet better and playing a smarter game." Bedard also expressed his desire to score more goals, saying, "It's been tough for me to put them in...hopefully soon, but we'll see."
The Detroit Red Wings have not played since Saturday, when they ended a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres. Both of their goals were scored on the power play, with captain Dylan Larkin netting two of them. However, Larkin was critical of himself for a turnover that led to a short-handed breakaway goal for the Sabres.
Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot also took responsibility for the goal, stating, "I wanted that goal back...I was upset at myself." Despite this, he felt good about his performance for the rest of the game and praised his teammates for playing well in front of him.
The Red Wings will now begin a stretch of six out of seven games on the road, where they have a 2-2-0 record this season. This includes their game against the Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Five of Larkin's seven goals this season have come on the power play, tying him for the league lead in that category with Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
