Partial Cup Series Schedule Announced for Corey LaJoie with RWR
Corey LaJoie will compete in a limited number of NASCAR Cup Series races for Rick Ware Racing in 2025.
In addition to driving the No. 01 Ford, he will also work as a race analyst for five events on Amazon Prime Video.
"The Amazon opportunity is one of the factors that will make this year look a bit different," shared LaJoie, 33, in an interview with NASCAR.com. "When they approached me towards the end of last year, I felt like there were doors opening in my life and opportunities arising from the Lord, showing me that there are other things I can do outside of being a full-time Cup driver."
"Since I was 7 years old, my entire racing career has been solely focused on becoming a competitive, race-winning Cup Series driver. I have worked tirelessly and made sacrifices with that goal in mind. However, the way things played out last year and the circumstances I found myself in, not being in the right team at the right time, made me realize that everything happens for a reason. I believe that my career has led me to this point for a purpose."
LaJoie made the move from Spire Motorsports to Rick Ware Racing in September of last year. Earlier this month, RWR announced that Cody Ware will be their full-time driver for the upcoming season.
In 2025, RWR will lease their second car to RFK Racing, which means that LaJoie, or whoever is driving the second RWR entry, will have to qualify for races. His first attempt will be at the Daytona 500 on February 16, where he finished fourth last year.
With 11 top-10 finishes but no wins in 272 career Cup Series starts, LaJoie admits that transitioning to broadcasting has reignited his passion for the sport.
"With the opportunity from Amazon and my own podcast, Stacking Pennies, I have fallen back in love with the sport," LaJoie explained. "I have never disliked it, but it's like a marriage - there are days when you don't like each other, but you always love each other. That's how the last 16 months of my career have been."
LaJoie also announced the launch of his Stacking Pennies Performance Brand, named after his popular podcast.
