Formula 1 imposed a total of $1 million in fines on power unit makers Honda and Alpine (formerly Renault) for violating FIA engine cost cap regulations.

While neither manufacturer exceeded the cost cap limit, both were penalized for issues with their documentation.

Honda was fined $600,000 for incorrect cost cap calculations that did not accurately reflect excluded or adjusted costs. Alpine was fined $400,000 for submitting late documentation that was missing necessary information.

Both infractions were considered minor and resulted in an Accepted Breach Agreement. The cases have been closed.

In addition to the fines, both teams are also responsible for covering the administrative costs of the investigation.

The 2023 season marked the first time that engine manufacturers were required to adhere to a cost cap. Despite the procedural errors made by Honda and Alpine, F1 has confirmed that all 10 teams stayed within the cost cap restrictions.
