"Announcement: Red Bull to Replace Sergio Perez with Liam Lawson, According to Reports"
It has been reported by multiple sources on Monday that Sergio Perez of Red Bull is likely to be replaced by Liam Lawson in the upcoming days.
This decision comes after Red Bull's streak of consecutive constructors' championships was broken in 2024, with McLaren taking the top spot.
Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver, won his fourth consecutive drivers' championship, while Perez finished in eighth place overall. The 34-year-old Mexican had previously finished second in the 2023 standings and has achieved six victories in his 14 seasons.
Lawson, who is 22 years old, has been a part of the Red Bull junior team since 2019 and has been a reserve driver for the past two seasons. He took over Daniel Riccardo's seat for Red Bull's RB team (previously known as AlphaTauri) this season and has participated in 11 F1 races.
Isack Hadjar, who holds dual citizenship in France and Algeria, is expected to join the RB team alongside Yuki Tsunoda from Japan. Hadjar finished second in the F2 circuit in 2024 while racing for Campos Racing.
Perez is currently under contract with Red Bull until 2025 and may continue as a team ambassador or leave the team entirely. However, all 20 F1 seats have already been filled for the 2025 season.
