Report: Michael Andretti relinquishing stake in Andretti Global

According to sources, Michael Andretti is giving up his ownership share in Andretti Global, the motorsports organization he has overseen since 2002.

As reported by Sportico on Friday, the 61-year-old Andretti is looking to transition from a hands-on role to a more strategic position, according to "three people familiar with the decision."

Andretti currently serves as the chairman and CEO of Andretti Global, which declined to comment on the matter.

Under Andretti's leadership, his teams have achieved four IndyCar Series championships and five victories at the Indianapolis 500.

Formerly known as Andretti Autosport, the company was rebranded as Andretti Global in 2023.
