The Vancouver Canucks reached an agreement with goaltender Arturs Silovs on a two-year deal on Tuesday.

Silovs, who is 23 years old, had a record of 3-0-1 with a 2.47 goals-against average and an .881 save percentage with the Canucks during the 2023-24 season.

He also had a record of 16-11-6 with a 2.74 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 34 games with the Canucks' AHL team, Abbotsford.

\"Arturs was a valuable asset for us last year and we have seen him continue to improve as a goalie,\" said general manager Patrick Allvin. \"We anticipate him competing for a full-time spot on the team during training camp. Our team will continue to work with him to enhance his skills and provide him with the necessary resources to further his young career.\"

The terms of the contract with the Latvia native were not disclosed, but multiple sources have reported that it has an average annual value of $850,000.
