Toronto Maple Leafs Goalie Anthony Stolarz (knee) to Miss 4-6 Weeks
Toronto Maple Leafs netminder Anthony Stolarz will be out of commission for four to six weeks following knee surgery.
On Tuesday, Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving announced that an MRI showed no structural damage and the loose object in Stolarz's knee was comparable to a "small pebble."
Stolarz was placed on the injured list on Sunday, after sustaining a lower-body injury in the first period of the Maple Leafs' 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. He sat out Saturday's 4-2 defeat against the Detroit Red Wings and was declared unfit to play in Sunday's 5-3 win against the Buffalo Sabres, before being placed on the IR.
In the absence of Stolarz, the Maple Leafs will rely on goalies Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby.
Stolarz, 30, has a record of 9-5-2 with a 2.15 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 17 games (all starts) this season.
Throughout his career, he has a record of 52-36-11 with a 2.61 GAA and .916 SP in 125 games (100 starts) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers, and Maple Leafs.
