"Sabres Sign F Beck Malenstyn to 2-Year Contract"

The Buffalo Sabres and forward Beck Malenstyn reached an agreement on a two-year, $2.7 million contract on Tuesday.

In June, the Sabres acquired Malenstyn from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Malenstyn was selected by the Capitals in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Draft and spent parts of four seasons with the team.

Last season, the 26-year-old played in 81 games for the Capitals and achieved career highs in goals (six), assists (15), and points (21).

He also led the team with 241 hits.

\"According to Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams, Malenstyn is a direct, hard player who excels at finishing checks with force. This is exactly what we needed,\" Adams stated in June.
