"Recap of NHL Action: Zach Werenski and Blue Jackets Defeat Lightning in Overtime"

Zach Werenski concluded a record-breaking five-point performance with his game-winning goal just 1:26 into overtime, as the Columbus Blue Jackets came back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-6 on Thursday.

Werenski, who also had three assists and scored during the team's six-goal second period, beat Lightning goalie Jonas Johansson (36 saves) with a powerful wrist shot to secure the Blue Jackets' third win in four games.

Sean Monahan contributed a goal and three assists, while Kent Johnson returned from a 14-game absence due to a shoulder injury and scored twice for the Blue Jackets.

Nikita Kucherov tallied three assists for the Lightning, who struggled defensively after winning their previous three games and allowing only three goals combined. Mitchell Chaffee, Brandon Hagel, Anthony Cirelli, and Conor Geekie each had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay.
