"Quinton Byfield, Kings' F, Inks 5-Year Deal Worth $31.25 Million"

The Los Angeles Kings have secured the services of forward Quinton Byfield for the next five years with a contract extension worth $31.25 million ($6.25 million average annual value). This deal will keep him with the team until the end of the 2028-29 season.

Byfield, who was selected second overall in the 2020 draft, has been a member of the Kings for parts of four seasons. However, it was during the 2023-24 season that he truly made a name for himself. In 80 games, he achieved career highs in goals (20), assists (35), points (55), plus-minus (plus-19), penalty minutes (42), hits (66), and takeaways (46).

At just 21 years old, Byfield became the third player in franchise history to score 20 goals or more. He also made significant contributions to the team's power play, scoring six goals and recording 14 points.

Since his debut on April 28, 2021, the Canadian has accumulated a total of 88 points (28 goals, 60 assists) in 179 career games.
