"Practice Sees Return of Capitals' Goalie Charlie Lindgren After Upper-Body Injury"
Washington Capitals netminder Charlie Lindgren joined the team for practice on Wednesday, marking his return from an upper-body injury sustained last Friday.
Although he will travel with the team to Ottawa, Lindgren remains on injured reserve and will not be able to play in Thursday's game against the Senators. However, he is eligible to be activated on Saturday when the Capitals take on the Pittsburgh Penguins.
According to Capitals coach Spencer Carbery, Lindgren is "not quite ready" to come off of injured reserve, but his presence on the ice during practice is a positive step in his recovery.
Lindgren was injured during the Capitals' home game against the Montreal Canadiens, when he took a hit to the head from Nick Suzuki. He was pulled from the game approximately two minutes later and the Canadiens went on to win 3-2 in overtime.
In his 21 starts this season, Lindgren has a record of 10-8-2 with a 2.65 goals-against average and .900 save percentage.
Throughout his career, he has a record of 63-47-14 with a .277 GAA and .907 save percentage in 131 regular-season games for the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and Capitals.
In other injury news, Washington forward Sonny Milano participated in his first full practice since sustaining an upper-body injury on November 6th. He wore a non-contact jersey during practice as he continues to recover. Milano has played in three games this season and has a total of 137 career points in 313 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Anaheim Ducks, and Capitals.
