The Minnesota Wild acquired defenseman Travis Dermott via waivers from the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.

Dermott, who will turn 28 on December 22, inked a one-year, two-way deal with Edmonton just prior to the start of the season. The Oilers waived him on Thursday.

In his 10 games with the Oilers, Dermott failed to register a point. He averaged 13:05 of ice time per game and tallied two penalty minutes with three shots on net.

The well-traveled player will now join his fifth NHL team. Originally selected in the second round of the 2015 draft by Toronto, Dermott has appeared in 339 games for the Maple Leafs (2017-2022), Vancouver Canucks (2022-2023), Arizona Coyotes (2023-2024), and Oilers. He has accumulated a total of 62 points (16 goals, 46 assists).
