"Montreal Hockey Player Emil Heineman Injured in Car Crash, Expected to Miss 3-4 Weeks"

Montreal Canadiens forward Emil Heineman will be out of action for three to four weeks after suffering an upper-body injury in a car crash in Utah, the team announced on Tuesday.

According to the team, the accident took place on Monday while Heineman was walking.

The Canadiens are starting a two-game road trip on Tuesday against the Utah Hockey Club in Salt Lake City.

The 23-year-old Heineman has recorded a total of 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) and 14 penalty minutes in 41 games this season. He did not score any points in four games last season with the Canadiens.

The Swedish player was chosen by the Florida Panthers in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He was later traded to the Calgary Flames as part of the Sam Bennett deal on April 12, 2021, and was then moved to the Canadiens in the trade involving Tyler Toffoli on Feb. 14, 2022.
