Just 47 seconds after Tampa Bay tied the game at 4-4, Kyle Connor skated around the net and passed to Samberg, whose shot from the point beat Lightning goalie Jonas Johansson (27 saves).
Vladislav Namestnikov, Logan Stanley, Mark Scheifele, and Alex Iafallo also scored for the Jets, who overcame a 2-0 deficit to achieve their best start in franchise history at 11-1-0.
Nikita Kucherov contributed a goal and an assist for the Lightning, who have now lost two consecutive games after winning three in a row.
