'Jake Middleton of Wild signs 4-year contract extension worth $17.4M'

The Minnesota Wild inked defenseman Jake Middleton to a four-year, $17.4 million contract extension.

The agreement, revealed on Tuesday, carries a $4.35 million average yearly value and spans from the 2025-26 campaign through 2028-29.

Middleton, 28, recorded a personal-best 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) in 80 games last year and led the Wild in penalty minutes (77) and blocked shots (161).

He has amassed 57 points (14 goals, 43 assists) in 239 contests with the San Jose Sharks (2018-22) and Wild.

The Los Angeles Kings originally selected Middleton in the seventh round (210th overall) in 2014.
