Exchange of Defensemen Between Jets and Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have traded defenseman Dmitry Kuzmin to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Isaak Phillips on Wednesday.

Phillips, who is 23 years old, has recorded one goal in three games for the Blackhawks this season.

He has a total of 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) and 31 penalty minutes in his 56 career games since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Draft by Chicago.

Kuzmin, who is 21 years old, has accumulated four points (one goal, three assists) and 16 penalty minutes in 21 games this season while playing for the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

He was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the third round of the 2021 NHL Draft and has yet to make his debut in the NHL.
