St. Louis Blues winger Dylan Holloway made his return to the ice on Wednesday, a few hours after being carried off the bench on a stretcher.

Holloway expressed that he is "feeling well today" and even expressed his desire to play in the Blues' upcoming game against the Utah Hockey Club on Thursday.

This is a positive outlook from Holloway, who was struck by a puck in the neck during the first period of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Despite being hit, Holloway finished his shift but received medical attention once he returned to the bench. His neck was stabilized before being taken to the locker room on a stretcher. He was then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

"It was definitely a scary situation. From what I've been told, the puck hit my Vagus nerve in my neck and I immediately knew something was off. But then we had a two-on-one opportunity, so I couldn't pass that up," Holloway said on Wednesday. "Once I got to the bench, I started feeling a bit dizzy and I don't remember much until I was on the stretcher near the ambulance."

Holloway did not participate in any on-ice activities on Wednesday, and for good reason.

"The doctors told me to avoid any physical activity for 24 hours and then I should be good to go," he explained. "I'm hoping to play tomorrow, but we'll see. I did some light biking, just to get my legs moving, but nothing too strenuous. They just advised me to rest for 24 hours. I'm hopeful to play tomorrow."

At 23 years old, Holloway is in his first season with the Blues after spending his first two seasons with the Edmonton Oilers. He has recorded four goals and two assists in 13 games for St. Louis.
