Tom Wilson, Dylan Strome and Taylor Raddysh each scored in a three-goal second period for the host Washington Capitals, who defeated the previously unbeaten Dallas Stars 3-2 on Thursday.

After defeating the 3-0-0 Vegas on Tuesday for their first win, the Capitals were trailing 1-0 entering the second period on Thursday before making a comeback. Wilson led the surge in the second period with his third goal in three games. Charlie Lindgren, who was solid during the final stretch as Dallas pressured, made 22 saves for Washington, which has won two of its first three games.

Colin Blackwell and Jason Robertson scored for Dallas, who had outscored their opponents 12-5 while starting the season 4-0-0. However, the Stars did not provide much support for netminder Casey Smith (23 saves), who could not overcome turnovers and poor defensive play in front.

The Stars also failed to score on all four of their power-play attempts and are now 1-for-17 this season.
