"Capitals inflict upper-body injury on Bruins' F David Pastrnak"

Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak was labeled as "unlikely to come back" to Monday's matchup against the visiting Washington Capitals due to an upper-body injury.

It was uncertain when or how Pastrnak sustained the injury. He was absent from the ice for most of the second period and did not return from the locker room for the third period before the team's announcement. The game was tied 1-1 after two periods.

Pastrnak leads the Bruins in points (35) and assists (23) in the first 35 games of the season. The four-time All-Star was awarded the 2019-20 Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy (shared with Washington's Alex Ovechkin) for leading the league in goals with 48.

Since being drafted in the first round of the 2014 draft by Boston, Pastrnak has accumulated a total of 762 points (360 goals, 402 assists) in 710 career games.
