"Blues' Dylan Holloway Injured by Puck to Neck, Admitted to Hospital"
St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway was struck by a puck in the neck region and had to be removed from the bench on a stretcher towards the end of the opening period of a game against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night.
The team announced that Holloway was in a stable condition at the hospital. According to DailyFaceoff.com, he did not experience any issues with his airway or swelling in his neck, and doctors have confirmed that he will be okay.
\"I\'m not the one to provide updates, but we do know that he is doing well,\" stated Blues captain Brayden Schenn after their 3-2 victory. \"It was just a bizarre accident, but we are relieved to hear that he will be alright.\"
Holloway continued playing after the incident, but received medical attention once he returned to the bench. His neck was stabilized before he was taken off on a stretcher to the locker room. He was then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
With 1:11 remaining in the first period, the game was paused for an early intermission. It resumed with the final 1:11 of the first period, followed immediately by the start of the second period.
The 23-year-old Holloway is currently in his first season with the Blues, having previously played for the Edmonton Oilers for two NHL seasons. He has recorded four goals and two assists in 13 games for St. Louis.
