Colorado Avalanche forward Jonathan Drouin is currently dealing with an upper-body injury and will be out for an undetermined amount of time, according to coach Jared Bednar's announcement on Wednesday.

Drouin has been absent from the ice since scoring two goals in Saturday's 7-4 victory against the Florida Panthers. He was also unable to play in Monday's 8-2 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 29-year-old has only participated in five games this season due to an upper-body injury sustained during the season opener on October 9th. This caused him to miss the following 16 games for the Colorado team.

During the 2023-24 season, Drouin achieved a career-high of 56 points (19 goals, 37 assists) while playing for the Avalanche.

Throughout his career, Drouin has accumulated a total of 341 points (98 goals, 243 assists) in 569 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning (2014-17), Montreal Canadiens (2017-23), and Avalanche. He was originally drafted by the Lightning as the third overall pick in 2013.
