"Announcement: NHL Secures 12-Year, $7.7B Canadian Television Agreement with Rogers"

According to Sportico, the NHL has struck a 12-year, $7.7 billion agreement with Rogers Communications to broadcast games on Canadian television.

Pending owner approval, the deal could be announced as early as this week, if NHL executives recommend it.

This would be a contract extension for Rogers, as their current 12-year deal, signed in 2013, is coming to an end. The new deal would start in the 2026-27 season and would be worth more than double the previous contract.

In contrast, American television rights are divided between ESPN and TNT, with a $600 million annual deal that runs until the end of the 2027-28 season.
