The Washington Capitals inked a contract extension with defenseman Dylan McIlrath for two years, worth $1.6 million, on Thursday.

At 32 years old, McIlrath has tallied two assists and accumulated 14 penalty minutes in 11 games so far this season.

He served as captain for Washington's American Hockey League team, Hershey, leading them to Calder Cup victories in both 2023 and 2024.
