Webb Simpson was selected as a vice captain for the United States\' 2025 Ryder Cup team on Tuesday.

Simpson was the initial individual chosen for the role by captain Keegan Bradley. Bradley will announce additional vice captains at a later date for the event, which is set to take place on Sept. 26-28, 2025, at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y.

\"Webb is someone who I have always admired and respected as both a competitor and a friend,\" Bradley stated. \"He brings a wealth of experience in team golf and knows what it takes to win. Webb will be a valuable member of our leadership team and a trusted resource for me as we prepare for Bethpage Black next September.\"

Simpson, who is 38 years old, has participated in three Ryder Cups (2012, 2014, 2018).

\"I am grateful to be chosen by Keegan to serve as a vice captain in 2025,\" Simpson expressed. \"Competing in three Ryder Cups will always be a highlight of my career. I have full confidence in Keegan as a captain and leader, and I am thrilled to get to work as we strive to reclaim the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.\"

Simpson secured the 2012 U.S. Open championship and has won seven times on the PGA Tour. He currently holds the No. 247 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Team Europe is the reigning Ryder Cup champion, defeating the Americans 16 1/2-11 1/2 in 2023 at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club near Rome.
