'Tom McKibbin becomes part of Jon Rahm's Thirteenth Legion'
Tom McKibbin was welcomed into Legion XIII on Wednesday as their newest member.
The team's captain, Jon Rahm, made the announcement on social media. McKibbin joined the team alongside England's Tyrrell Hatton and America's Caleb Surratt, replacing the relegated Kieran Vincent.
On February 6-8, LIV Golf will begin its fourth season at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia.
Despite earning his PGA Tour card through the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai last fall, 22-year-old McKibbin chose to join LIV Golf. His friend and fellow Northern Irishman, Rory McIlroy, had advised him against joining the new circuit a few months ago.
McKibbin currently holds the No. 106 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking.
He turned professional in 2021 and won the Porsche European Open in 2023. Last year, his best finish was as a runner-up in the Italian Open. McKibbin has already qualified for this year's Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
