"Study Indicates LIV's Plans to Replace Greg Norman as CEO"

"LIV Reportedly Searching for New CEO to Replace Greg Norman"

According to reports, the Saudi Public Investment Firm is interested in removing Greg Norman from his position as LIV Golf CEO, although he may still have a role within the golf league.

The PIF has hired a London-based search firm to find a new CEO to take over for Norman, as reported by Sports Business Journal on Tuesday. This is not the first time the PIF has used this firm, as they previously hired a sporting director for Newcastle United, an English soccer club under their control.

Norman's time as the first CEO and public face of the controversial golf league has been tumultuous, with reports in 2022 and 2023 suggesting he was close to being dismissed.

However, according to the Sports Business Journal, Norman "continues to have support from those within LIV" and is expected to remain in a leadership role after stepping down as CEO.

LIV completed its third season this fall and has expanded to 13 teams of four golfers under Norman's leadership. Most recently, Jon Rahm of Spain and Tyrrell Hatton of England left the PGA Tour to join LIV, as negotiations between the two sides for a "framework deal" have been slow.

Both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy have expressed the belief that Norman should step down in order for LIV to have a better relationship with the PGA Tour.

Norman, 69, is a former World No. 1 and has won the Open Championships in 1986 and 1993, as well as placing second in every other major tournament at least twice.
