Prize Money for Masters Tournament Increases to $21 Million; Champion's Portion Grows
When the champion of the Masters Tournament dons the coveted green jacket on Sunday, he may discover an additional $600,000 in his pocket.
On Saturday, tournament officials declared that the total prize money for this year's event will be $21 million, with the victor taking home $4.2 million. This is an increase from the $3.6 million earned by Scottie Scheffler in 2024, when he secured a four-stroke triumph over Sweden's Ludvig Aberg.
Last year's purse was a record-breaking $20 million. The winner's portion has doubled since 2021, when Japan's Hideki Matsuyama claimed $2.07 million.
The runner-up will receive $2.268 million, a raise from the $2.16 million awarded to Aberg.
The golfer who finishes in 50th place will earn $52,920, while those who do not make the cut will receive $25,000.
