A competitor with no wins on the PGA Tour pulled out of the World Wide Technologies Championship on Wednesday, causing oddsmakers to drastically change the tournament's odds.

This is the intrigue of the otherwise uneventful FedEx Fall, a series of eight tournaments where lesser-known players are fighting for crucial points to secure the best playing status they can for 2025.

Cameron Young, currently ranked No. 33, has yet to claim a victory on tour. His withdrawal on Wednesday leaves a player with zero wins on the Korn Ferry Tour - let alone the PGA Tour - as the clear favorite for betting.

Our golf experts preview the event, which begins on Thursday at the El Cardonal course in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, designed by Tiger Woods. They also share their top picks for prop bets and their best bets to win this week.

PROP PICKS

-Austin Eckroat To Make Cut (-340 at DraftKings): While the potential payout may not be enticing, Eckroat has made 80% of his cuts this season against much stronger competition. He has only played in one fall event, finishing T46 in Las Vegas, but has made the cut in five of his last six events dating back to The Open Championship.

-Neal Shipley Top 30 Finish (+120 at BetRivers): This bet offers a more attractive payout. Shipley has made nine starts on tour this season, only missing the cut once. He finished T6 at the ISCO Championship and placed 20th on the Fortinet Cup standings on PGA Tour Americas. He has steadily climbed the rankings, currently sitting at 218th in the world after being ranked 1,161st just seven months ago when he made the cut at the Masters.

-Matti Schmid Top Continental European (-105 at DraftKings): Schmid is among the favorites for the tournament and is in excellent form heading into the late season. He is competing against Henrik Norlander (+240), Adrien Dumont De Chassart (+700), Paul Barjon (+1000) and Martin Trainer (+1400) in this prop bet.

Norlander missed the cut in Las Vegas after a T8 finish in Utah, Dumont De Chassart has missed eight of his last 12 cuts, Barjon has only made the cut twice in his last 11 events, and Trainer has missed the cut in 15 of his last 18 starts worldwide.

2024 Prop Picks Record: 51-56

BEST BETS

-Max Greyserman (+1600 at DraftKings) has finished as runner-up in three of his last five events as he looks for his first PGA Tour victory. He also had two runner-up finishes on the KFT in 2023, but has yet to win on either tour.

-Doug Ghim (+2200) achieved his best career finish two starts ago with a solo second in Las Vegas, his third consecutive T6 or better finish.

-Matti Schmid (+2200) has quietly posted two top-5 finishes, including a T3 in Las Vegas where he was in contention but struggled with a 70 on Saturday.

-Adam Svensson (+4500) has not been in top form, with his best finish in his last four fall starts being T25. However, he does have a tour title under his belt at the 2022 The RSM Classic and finished T7 at the Wyndham this season.

-Nico Echavarria (+5500) is coming off his second win on tour, although it was only his second top-10 finish in 27 starts this season.

NOTES

-This is the sixth of eight tournaments on the FedEx Cup Fall schedule, which determines the top 125 players
