Masters Increases Field by 10, Including Lucas Glover and Justin Rose
Lucas Glover, a former winner of the U.S. Open, secured a spot in the 2025 Masters by finishing the year ranked No. 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
On Monday, it was announced that Glover was one of 10 new players added to the Masters field based on the final installment of the 2024 Official World Golf Ranking.
The prestigious tournament, held at Augusta National Golf Club, invites the top 50 players in the world ranking at the end of the year, as well as any players ranked in the top 50 one week before the tournament who have not already received an invitation.
Glover, who is 45 years old, recently dropped out of the top 50 but managed to return to the No. 50 spot on Monday. He previously won the U.S. Open in 2009, but has never finished better than T20 at the Masters.
Other players who qualified on Monday include Tom Kim of South Korea (No. 21), Nick Dunlap (No. 32), Max Greyserman (No. 35), Jason Day of Australia (No. 37), Rasmus Hojgaard of Denmark (No. 39), Corey Conners of Canada (No. 41), Denny McCarthy (No. 44), Justin Rose of England (No. 46), and Min Woo Lee of Australia (No. 49).
Rose, who is 44 years old, previously won the U.S. Open in 2013 and has finished second at the Masters in 2015 and 2017. Day, who is also a previous major champion, won the PGA Championship in 2015.
As of Monday, the Masters field has 85 players. In 2024, there were 89 players in the field when Scottie Scheffler won his second green jacket.
