Jordan Spieth stated that he is making good progress after undergoing wrist surgery and anticipates being prepared for the commencement of the 2025 PGA Tour season.

\"My objective is to be tournament-ready by January 1, 2025,\" Spieth shared in a Q&A with Golfweek published on Monday. \"And for me, that means not just testing it out, but expecting to perform at my highest level.\"

Appearing at a fundraiser at Brookhaven Country Club near Dallas, Spieth sported a cast on his left wrist in his first public appearance since the surgery.

The 31-year-old initially sustained the injury in 2023 and last competed in the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis in mid-August.

\"The main reason I decided to have the surgery was because it was affecting my daily life at home,\" he explained. \"It would dislocate at the most random times, like when I was taking my daughter out of the bath or putting on a sweatshirt. It was happening more frequently and I didn't want it to continue, but it wasn't going to heal on its own according to multiple doctors and scans. So it was inevitable.\"

Spieth has achieved three major victories and a total of 13 wins on the PGA Tour, but has not won since the RBC Heritage in April 2022. He began the 2024 season with a third-place finish at The Sentry and tied for sixth at the WM Phoenix Open, but only managed one more top-10 finish for the remainder of the year and missed seven cuts.

Unfortunately, Spieth did not qualify for the season-opening tournament, The Sentry. However, he is eligible to compete in the Sony Open in Hawaii on January 9-12 at Waialae Country Club.
