DP World Tour Bans Marco Penge for Breaching Betting Regulations | Picks n' Previews

The DP World Tour has suspended England's Marco Penge on Wednesday after an independent disciplinary panel discovered that he had placed bets on multiple golf tournaments.

Penge, who is 26 years old, will be banned for three months starting from last Friday. However, one month of the ban will be suspended for a year in case of any further violations of the integrity program. He will be eligible to return to the tour on February 13, 2025.

In addition to the ban, Penge has also been fined approximately $2,500.

According to the European circuit, Penge "did not place bets on himself or on the outcome of tournaments while he was participating," which led the panel to conclude that the integrity of the events was not compromised.

The panel also took into consideration Penge's "immediate admission of guilt and cooperation during the investigation," which resulted in a reduced punishment being imposed.

Currently ranked 414th in the world, Penge had a tough year with 19 missed cuts out of 28 events. His most recent tournament was the Australian Open in November, where he finished tied for 27th place.
