Chieh-po Lee emerged victorious in the 36-hole LIV Golf Promotions tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, securing his spot on the league roster for 2025.

Lee, also known as Max Lee, carded a total of 10-under par with a combination of nine birdies and two bogeys in the first round, and five birdies and two bogeys in the second round.

The 30-year-old will be the first player from Chinese Taipei to compete full-time in the LIV Golf league.

He finished two strokes ahead of fellow Asian Tour player Taichi Kho and Branden Grace, who was dropped from LIV Golf after his performance in 2024.

The tournament began with 92 players vying for the sole LIV slot, and only 20 made it to the final rounds on Saturday.

Grace had hoped for another chance with LIV Golf after finishing 51st out of 57 players this season.

\"I played well and gave it my all,\" said the 36-year-old South African. \"It was a good effort. Now I'll go home and take a break.\"

All players in the Top 10 on the leaderboard will receive exemptions into the 10 tournaments on The International Series.

Completing the Top 10 were American Ollie Schniederjans and Australians Brett Coletta and Jack Buchanan (5 under); Max Rottluff of Germany (4 under); and South Korea's Soomin Lee, David Horsey of England, Suteepat Prateeptienchai of Thailand and Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent.

Lee expressed his hope that his victory would inspire other golfers in Chinese Taipei.

\"It means a lot for our players,\" Lee said. \"LIV Golf, I believe it's the dream of many players. I will go there and they will come too.\"
