Brittany Lincicome to take a break from regular competition
Renowned golfer Brittany Lincicome declared on Friday that this will be her final season participating in a full schedule on the LPGA Tour.
Lincicome, aged 39, joined the tour in 2005 and has achieved victory in eight tournaments, including the Chevron Championship (formerly known as the Kraft Nabisco Championship) in 2009 and the ANA Inspiration in 2015.
Lincicome's last event of her 20th and final full season will take place at The Annika driven by Gainbridge on November 14th at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida. The St. Petersburg native received a sponsor's exemption to participate in the event.
"I have had an incredible career both on and off the golf course on the LPGA Tour, and I am extremely honored and grateful to have the opportunity to conclude my final full-time season where it all began for me in the Tampa Bay region," Lincicome stated in a press release.
Throughout her 400 appearances on the LPGA Tour, Lincicome has achieved 151 top-25 finishes and 66 top-10 finishes, earning nearly $10 million. Her most recent triumph was at the Bahamas LPGA Classic in 2018.
Lincicome, who has also represented the United States in six Solheim Cup teams, desires to spend more time with her two young daughters. She told Golfweek that this is not a retirement announcement and that she plans to participate in a few events each year.
