"Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell Addresses Attendees at Khyree Jackson's Funeral"

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O\'Connell spoke at a funeral held on Friday for rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson, who tragically passed away in a car accident earlier this month.

O\'Connell praised Jackson's toughness, recalling how he played through shoulder pain during training camp despite being encouraged to seek treatment as a fourth-round pick.

\"I wouldn\'t have held it against him if he decided to fix his shoulder,\" O\'Connell said. \"But he looked at me and said, \'Nope, I can play. I have to be out there with my brothers. I would rather push through and help my team win.\'\"

At just 24 years old, Jackson was expected to compete for a starting position after being selected by the Vikings from Oregon in the NFL Draft in April.

Tragically, Jackson was one of three individuals killed in a three-car crash in Prince George\'s County, Maryland on July 6. The other victims were his former football teammates from Dr. Henry A. Wise High School, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr.
