Vikings exclude wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) from facing 49ers
The Minnesota Vikings will be without wide receiver Jordan Addison for their game against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday due to a right ankle injury.
The 22-year-old Addison did not participate in practice this week and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Jalen Nailor. Along with star player Justin Jefferson, Trent Sherfield, Trishton Jackson, and Brandon Powell may also see increased playing time.
Addison, who also missed part of training camp with a high left ankle sprain, sustained his right ankle injury during the Vikings' 28-6 victory over the New York Giants last Sunday. He ended the game with three receptions for 35 yards.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Addison, who was the 23rd pick in the 2023 draft, is only the fourth player in modern NFL history to achieve 70 catches, 900 receiving yards, and 10 receiving touchdowns in their rookie season.
Aside from his injury, Addison also has a court date on October 7 and could potentially face disciplinary action from the NFL for two misdemeanors. This is after he was found asleep at the wheel near the Los Angeles International Airport on July 12 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent.
