Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars Quarterback, Restricted and Uncertain for Week 10
Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was restricted in Wednesday's training session and his availability for Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings is uncertain.
According to multiple reports, head coach Doug Pederson stated that Lawrence is experiencing discomfort in his upper body, specifically in his left shoulder.
The Jaguars (2-7) will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings (6-2) on Sunday, but Pederson could not guarantee that Lawrence will be able to play.
\"I cannot provide an answer to that,\" he said. \"I cannot answer that today, as it is only Wednesday.\"
On Wednesday, backup Mac Jones took over the first-team offense.
So far this season, Lawrence has thrown 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. His injury was revealed on the same day that the Jaguars signed C.J. Beathard from the Miami Dolphins' practice squad. Beathard was previously released by Jacksonville during training camp due to an injury settlement. He served as the No. 2 quarterback behind Lawrence in the 2021-23 seasons.
Beathard, who is 30 years old, has played in 32 NFL games since being selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He has a record of 3-10 as a starter and has completed 60.4% of his passes for 3,886 yards, with 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
