The Tennessee Titans have come to an agreement to release Jamal Adams, a three-time Pro Bowl safety, according to his agents who informed ESPN on Thursday.

On his 29th birthday, Adams signed a one-year contract with the Titans on July 11. He was reunited with defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, who was his coach for defensive backs during his Pro Bowl seasons in 2018 and 2019 with the New York Jets.

Adams, who was also selected for the Pro Bowl in 2020 with the Seattle Seahawks, only played in three games (one start) this season for Tennessee and recorded four tackles in just 20 snaps. He was recently placed on the non-football injury list.

In 2023, Adams made 48 tackles for Seattle but was limited to only nine starts due to a concussion. The 2017 first-round pick (sixth overall) has accumulated 498 tackles, 21.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and four interceptions in 83 games (81 starts) with the Jets (2017-19) and Seahawks (2020-23).
