Titans QB Will Levis exits with apparent injury
Titans signal-caller Will Levis suffered an apparent injury to his right shoulder on Monday night during the first quarter of Tennessee's matchup against the Miami Dolphins. He was listed as questionable to return.
Mason Rudolph stepped in for Levis and led the Titans to three field goals in the first half and 10 points in the third quarter. Tennessee held a 19-6 lead going into the final quarter in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Levis was hurt while diving for extra yardage on a scramble to his right. He landed hard on his shoulder out of bounds with just over seven minutes remaining in the first quarter, stretching out both arms with the ball. He was marked short of the first down.
When the Titans regained possession with 4:14 left in the quarter, Rudolph took over as quarterback.
At halftime, Tennessee coach Brian Callahan told ESPN that Levis would return to the game if he was deemed healthy. However, Rudolph remained in the game for the entire third quarter while Levis stood on the sideline with his helmet on.
Levis threw his sixth interception of the season before exiting the game. He entered the week leading the league in turnovers with eight, including three lost fumbles. He completed 3 of 4 passes for 25 yards on Monday.
