NFL Thanksgiving, Black Friday summaries

--Thursday

Chicago Bears (4-7) at Detroit Lions (10-1), 12:30 p.m. ET, CBS

The Lions, with a nine-game winning streak and a 2-0 record in the division, will prove to be a challenging opponent for the Bears in the first game of the holiday tripleheader on Thursday. Despite a promising 4-2 start, the Bears have suffered three walkoff defeats in their last five games, resulting in a disappointing 4-7 record. However, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has shown signs of growth and has not thrown an interception during the team's five-game losing streak. The Bears' main struggle has been converting on third downs, but with offensive coordinator Thomas Brown calling plays in the last two games, there has been some improvement. The Lions, on the other hand, have been on fire offensively, scoring 10 total touchdowns in their last eight quarters. Former Bears running back David Montgomery will face his former team, and Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has more touchdowns than all of the Bears' wide receivers combined. The Bears' defense has had success against Lions quarterback Jared Goff in the past, but they have been struggling in recent games, allowing the most total yards in the league since Week 8.

New York Giants (2-9) at Dallas Cowboys (4-7), 4:30 p.m. ET, FOX

The Giants will have backup quarterback Tommy DeVito starting in their rematch against the Cowboys, but they may have a chance to upset Dallas, who has yet to win a game at home this season. The Cowboys will also have their backup quarterback, Cooper Rush, starting, but they were aided by two kickoff return touchdowns in their last game against Washington. The Giants have been struggling, with rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers calling out the team's effort, and DeVito's offensive line is questionable due to injuries. The Cowboys are favored to sweep the two-game series against the Giants for the fourth consecutive season.

Miami Dolphins (5-6) at Green Bay Packers (8-3), 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC

The Dolphins have a poor record in sub-freezing temperatures, and they will face a tough challenge against the Packers on Thursday night. Green Bay's offensive line has been dominant, paving the way for running back Josh Jacobs to have a successful season. The Dolphins have struggled to establish a strong running game, but rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been impressive since returning from injury. The Packers have won five of their last six games against the Dolphins, and this will be the second consecutive game for head coach Matt LaFleur facing a former co-worker in Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel.

--Friday

Las Vegas Raiders (2-9) at Kansas City Chiefs (10-1), 3 p.m. ET, Amazon Prime

The Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will be looking for revenge against the Raiders, who defeated them on Christmas Day last season. Mahomes is on track to become the Chiefs' all-time leader in touchdown passes, and he has a competitive history with Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The Raiders' defense will have their hands full with the Chiefs' efficient offense, as they rank first in the league in 10-play drives and third-down percentage. Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell will be making his first appearance since Week 7, and he will rely heavily on rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who leads the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.
