Second Practice Missed by Jets Wide Receiver Mike Williams Due to Personal Circumstances
The New York Jets' wide receiver, Mike Williams, was absent from practice for the second consecutive day due to personal reasons, as stated by the team.
Williams, who is 30 years old, signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Jets during free agency, but has not had many chances in the passing game. This is likely to continue as the Jets recently acquired star receiver Davante Adams to join Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.
According to The Athletic, multiple teams have reached out to the Jets to discuss a potential trade for Williams. The NFL Network also reported that Williams was present at the team's facility on Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice.

In the six games he has played this season, Williams has caught 10 passes on 17 targets for 145 yards and has yet to score a touchdown. He was known as a deep threat for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017 to 2023, where he recorded 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns, with an additional rushing touchdown. In 2019, he led the NFL in yards per reception with 20.4.
On Thursday, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who sat out of Wednesday's walkthrough due to an ankle injury, fully participated in practice. However, cornerbacks D.J. Reed (groin) and Michael Carter II (back) have missed two consecutive days of practice.
