"Seahawks Extend FS Julian Love's Contract for 3 More Years, According to Reports"

Seattle Seahawks free safety Julian Love, fresh off his initial Pro Bowl selection, has reportedly agreed to a three-year contract extension on Wednesday, according to various media sources.

The contract is rumored to be valued at up to $36 million.

Love is currently in the middle of a two-year, $12 million contract that brought him to the Seahawks in March 2023 after spending four seasons with the New York Giants.

Last year, he achieved career highs in interceptions (four), passes defensed (10), and forced fumbles (two) while playing in all 17 games and starting 12 times.

Love's tackle count, 123, was just one short of his career best from the previous season. He also recorded 13 tackles on special teams, which tied for the third-highest total in the NFL.

According to Seattle coach Mike Macdonald, "On the field, he possesses exceptional composure, and that's something we strive for. Even when things don't go our way, we maintain our composure and focus on the next play. The game seems to move slowly for him, and his ability to communicate effectively is a testament to his presence on the field."

The former Notre Dame player was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 draft by the Giants.

In his 81 career NFL games (44 starts), Love has recorded nine interceptions, 28 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 414 tackles.
