Jordan Love has only started 18 regular-season games in his career, but the talented quarterback has secured a four-year, $220 million contract extension with the Green Bay Packers, according to multiple media reports on Friday.

After starting just one game in his first two seasons with the Packers, Love started every game in 2023 and is now tied for the highest-paid quarterback in league history in terms of average annual value. He joins Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars, all averaging $55 million per season.

Love will also receive an NFL-record $75 million signing bonus and $155 million of his extension money is guaranteed.

Although Love has been present at training camp, he has not been participating in practice. His representatives made it clear last weekend that they wanted his contract extension to be finalized before he took the field, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst.

The 25-year-old quarterback, who was drafted 26th overall by the Packers in 2020, had a strong second half of last season after being challenged by the front office to prove himself. In the final eight games of the regular season, Love threw for 16 touchdowns and only one interception.

Green Bay finished the regular season with a 6-2 record, securing the NFC's final wild-card spot. They then defeated the Dallas Cowboys 48-32 in the playoffs, with Love throwing for 272 yards and three touchdowns, before ultimately losing to the San Francisco 49ers 24-21 in the divisional round.

Love ended the regular season with 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdown passes, and 11 interceptions.
