'Ravens release WR Diontae Johnson following 4 games and suspension'
The Baltimore Ravens released wide receiver Diontae Johnson after a brief period with the team.
Johnson caught only one pass for 6 yards and was given a one-game suspension for reportedly refusing to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on December 1st.
In a corresponding move on Friday, the Ravens activated fellow wide receiver Anthony Miller from the practice squad.
Johnson, who is 28 years old, had already been on his third team in 2024. He was traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Carolina Panthers in March and then moved to the Ravens in October.
Selected in the third round of the 2019 draft from Toledo, Johnson had 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games (all starts) for the Panthers earlier this season.
Throughout his six-year career, the 2021 Pro Bowl pick has recorded 422 receptions for 4,726 yards and 28 touchdowns for the Steelers (2019-23), Panthers, and Ravens.
