Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt on potential to play against Baltimore: "We'll find out"

Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt on potential to play against Baltimore:

The participation of Pittsburgh Steelers' standout linebacker T.J. Watt in Saturday's game against the Baltimore Ravens remains uncertain.

"We'll have to wait and see on Saturday, but I felt pretty good this week," Watt stated on Thursday regarding his recovery from an ankle injury. "Obviously it's a short week, but I felt pretty good."

Watt injured his left ankle with less than five minutes remaining in the Steelers' 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. He did not participate in Tuesday's walk-through, was limited on Wednesday, and fully participated in practice on Thursday. He is not listed as injured for the upcoming game against the Ravens.

"There's not much we can do in practice during a short week like this to test it out, so I'll see how it feels on Saturday," Watt explained. "But right now, I feel pretty good."

The 30-year-old recorded two sacks, a forced fumble, and seven tackles in Sunday's game. He currently has 11.5 sacks this season, marking the sixth time in his eight-year career that he has reached double digits.

A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Watt has accumulated 108 sacks in 118 games with the Steelers. He was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 after recording a career-high 22.5 sacks, tying the official league record since 1982.

Wide receiver George Pickens will miss his third consecutive game due to a hamstring injury. He joins quarterback Justin Fields (abdomen) on the list of ruled-out players, while safety DeShon Elliott (hamstring) is doubtful after being limited in practice on Thursday.

Cornerback Donte Jackson (back) and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (groin) are both questionable for the game against the Ravens.
