'Patriots put LB Oshane Ximines (knee) on injured reserve prior to facing Jets'

The New England Patriots put linebacker Oshane Ximines on the injured reserve list on Wednesday due to a knee injury. They also signed rookie defensive end Jamree Kromah from the Chicago Bears' practice squad.

Ximines was absent from practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and was declared unable to play in the Patriots' game on Thursday against the New York Jets. He sustained the injury during the team's Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Ximines, who is 27 years old, has played in both games for the Patriots this season and has recorded one tackle. In his five seasons with the New York Giants (2019-23), he has accumulated 71 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 48 games (nine starts).

The Giants drafted Ximines in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft from Old Dominion University. He was released by the team in November and was signed by the Patriots as a free agent in April.

Kromah, who is 24 years old, joined the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent after playing four seasons at Rutgers University. He was released at the end of training camp on August 27th and re-signed the next day to the Bears' practice squad.

On the injury report for Thursday's game, the Patriots (1-1) have listed Ximines as out, along with offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (knee), guard Sidy Sow (ankle), and linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley, who is reportedly out for the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.

Center David Andrews (hip), offensive lineman Mike Onwenu (wrist), defensive end Deatrich Wise (shoulder), and safety Jabrill Peppers (shoulder) are all questionable for the game.

The Jets (1-1) have listed linebacker Jermaine Johnson II as out, as he is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn right Achilles tendon. Linebacker C.J. Mosley (toe) is listed as questionable.
