Leaders Unveil All-Star Defensive Tackle Jonathan Allen
The Washington Commanders let go of Jonathan Allen, a two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle, on Friday after their unsuccessful attempts to trade him.
Allen, who had a four-year, $72 million contract, was in his final season with no guaranteed money left. This move saves Washington $16.35 million towards their salary cap.
At 30 years old, Allen only played in eight games in 2024 due to a torn left pectoral muscle.
He has a total of 401 tackles, 42 sacks, and 118 quarterback hits in his 109 career games (108 starts) after being selected as the 17th overall pick by Washington in the 2017 NFL Draft.
