Julio Jones, 5-time All-Pro wide receiver, declares retirement

Star wide receiver Julio Jones officially declared his retirement from the NFL through the social media platform Squad on Friday.

Jones is widely recognized as one of the most productive receivers of the modern era. He has been named an All-Pro five times (with two first team selections) and has been selected to the Pro Bowl seven times.

During his time with the Atlanta Falcons, Jones consistently recorded over 1,300 receiving yards for six consecutive seasons. In 2015, he led the entire NFL with an impressive 1,871 receiving yards, which ranks as the third-highest in a single season in league history.

Throughout his career, Jones has accumulated 914 catches for 13,703 yards (placing him 16th on the all-time list) and 66 touchdowns. His average of 82.5 receiving yards per game ranks fifth in NFL history.

The Falcons drafted Jones as the sixth overall pick in 2011. After spending a decade with the team, he played one season each for the Tennessee Titans (2021), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2022), and Philadelphia Eagles (2023).
