The Buffalo Bills' top rusher, James Cook, was declared inactive for Monday night's match against the New York Jets due to a toe injury.

Cook's participation in Saturday's practice was limited and he was listed as questionable for the game. So far this season, he has recorded 70 carries for 309 yards and four rushing touchdowns in five starts, as well as 11 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.

His most impressive performance came in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, where he gained 95 yards and scored three touchdowns.

To fill in for Cook, the Bills have promoted Frank Gore Jr. from the practice squad. This will mark his first game in the NFL. Gore Jr. is the son of former running back Frank Gore, who played for both the Bills and the Jets towards the end of his career.

In other news, Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley, who has been out since Week 2 due to a toe injury, will be playing in tonight's game.
