Jets terminate contract of general manager Joe Douglas
The New York Jets' season of turmoil continued Tuesday with the alleged dismissal of general manager Joe Douglas.
The Jets (3-8) terminated head coach Robert Saleh on Oct. 8 and have only won one game under interim coach Jeff Ulbrich.
New York entered their bye week after suffering a 28-27 defeat at home against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Douglas, 48, was hired as the Jets GM in June 2019 on a six-year contract. Since then, the team has accumulated a record of 30-64 with no playoff appearances, extending a dry spell that dates back to 2010.
This season was supposed to be a promising one with the return of four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers from an Achilles injury. However, the offense currently ranks 26th in the league in both scoring (18.5 ppg) and yards (294.4).
