Report: Raiders DT Christian Wilkins (foot) out indefinitely, going to IR
The Las Vegas Raiders' defensive tackle, Christian Wilkins, will be out for an unspecified amount of time due to a Jones fracture surgery on his foot. According to NFL Network, he will also be placed on injured reserve.
Wilkins, who recently signed a four-year, $110 million contract with $84.75 million guaranteed, sustained the injury during the Raiders' 34-18 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The 28-year-old has started in all five games this season and has recorded 17 tackles, including two sacks.
In 2019, Wilkins was selected 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins in the NFL Draft. During his time with the Dolphins, he started in 82 out of 86 games and accumulated 355 tackles, 43 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks, 50 quarterback hits, one interception, four forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries.
Despite setting a career high of nine sacks in 2023, the Dolphins did not use their franchise tag on Wilkins, making him a free agent.
